Future Hope
Future Hope was set up in 1988 by Englishman Tim Grandage to provide shelter, education, medical aid and most of all hope to some of the street children of Calcutta.

Thousands of children, aged as young as four years, live on the dirty, dangerous streets of Calcutta, enduring disease, regular beatings and worse. Most have little or no ability to change their life. More than anything they need love and security. Tim Grandage gave up his banking job to rescue and help these children, and save them from a life on the streets.

Future Hope now have several hostels in Calcutta. Every morning, the children get up at 5am for rugby practice before starting their day of lessons. Rugby has become a corner stone of their lives with pictures of international rugby stars adorning their walls. Rugby has proved to be an effective medium for instilling positive values as well as offering a constructive outlet for the boy’s energies.

The Richard Langhorn Trust has been supporting Future Hope for many years. As well as financial aid we have sponsored rugby coaches to go out and help with the coaching of the children, a memorable visit for all those that have gone.
